My first week back to work was loooong! 4th grade isn't like it used to be.  Really. It's filled with SO much more pressure you'd think the next step was an Ivy League school instead of 5th grade. 

Now, don't get me wrong, I am all for excelling and pushing my kids; but some days, I'd like to play a game without having the students write what core content number it correlates to with the state standards on their desk.  Or maybe even let the kids illustrate a picture after free-choice a portfolio piece writing.

But, that's not what happens, at least in my county, so we spent the first 5 days back from Christmas Holiday break testing ALL day EVERY day. Yea, that's right. I think that is definitely worse than college! ha! Can't wait for some normalcy next week!

However, tonight I get a date night to Malone's and get to eat steak and enjoy vino thanks to a gift card. Love!
