Well...my LOVE is going away...Picnik :( Anyone else so upset over this?! I cannot believe it! But, I made this little gem on that site a bit ago and it was so easy and fun!
You could do so many things with this and then print on canvas or just a large photo and frame! Holidays? Birthdays? You name it! But do it quick before April when Picnik goes away!
Once you are on the site, go to the collage button. Then choose 1 photo and get your background color. Next, go to the fonts and you can type different words in different fonts and rotate as you see fit! So easy! :)

Crafting>Nesting {halloween and a tutorial}
So, if nesting is a pre-requisite for the baby to come...she may never come!! :) I'm sorry, but when I have a minute, I'd rather be sleeping or making something! Of course, I do love organizing her room and her baby items around the house. Does that count?
Here's a few things I got together today that I thought were so cute and easy!
Jack-O-Lantern Treats:
How cute, right?! It took me 5 minutes to create - even better! My nephews in GA are coming in this weekend and I wanted to make sure to get their Halloween treat to them before they left! I also made one my Colby & Cameron, and Lana {my cousin-in-law}.
Here's how to make:
*pint size mason jars
*candy corn & pumpkin treats
*black vinyl
*ribbon
All I did was fill the jars with the candy, lay the black vinyl on the white side (back side) and drew out a mouth and 2 triangles for eyes. Then I peeled it off and stuck it to the jar! Lastly, just add cute ribbon! Make sure the lid in on tight just in case the parents don't want their kid's fingers in the jars all the time! {although, candy corn is a fat free treat! ha!}
So easy, right?!
Next I made one for our house to keep on one of the end tables in the family room. I took out the little topper insert to make it easier to grab a few candies at a time. :) I just added ribbon with double-sided tape and then a ribbon bow around the lid. I LOVE candy corn!!
Argyle Pumpkin:
Ok, so you all know I am Pinterest-illiterate! I found a cute photo of an argyle/polka dot/and striped pumpkin set floating around Pinterest. I'm going to say probably all of you have too since it's been re-pinned so many times! WELL, the thing I dislike so much about Pinterest is that I never found where it truly came from and a tutorial for it. So, I made up my own way of making one and I've got an easy tutorial for you!
I used teal, yellow, and brown instead of orange and black because I thought it matched better where I put it in my family room.
Here's what you need:
*ghost pumpkin (real or fake, mine is real)
*3 paints of your choice
*one sheet of paper
*tape
*paint brush
Here's the tutorial:
1. First, make sure your pumpkin is super clean!
2. Take a piece of paper or card stock and fold in half. Then draw a triangle where the point is the opposite of your fold. (I traced my triangle I had cut out a while back from my Gender Reveal banner)
3. Next, cut it out and tape on the paper. Then start with one of your colors and paint.
4. Remove and place next to the triangle and repeat. Do this around the entire pumpkin or just the part that will show. :)
5. After you've painted your pumpkin, use a skinnier paint brush and start making quick, short, dotted lines through each triangle.
6. Viola! You are done with your super cute and preppy pumpkin! :)
Let me know if you try!!!

Baby Bottle Must-Haves
Ok, so my sis found this awesome product...and then it made me remember my co-worker, Kathleen, found these, too! Well, I think some similar!
These little sippy cup and bottle labels are so cute! They are a must have for taking to the sitter's, day cares, or the church nursery!
Here's a few websites that sell basically the same products and they all seem to run around $12.95.
My Precious Kid
Little Piddles
These labels are ok...they say they are dishwasher safe, but I'd be a little leary of this...
Name Bubbles
And of course, when little H gets older, she will be using one of these custom made just for her likeness~
The Craft Store
I imagine like a pink and green polka dot one with her name and maybe a cut-out of a giraffe or something!

Cricut Stuff :)
Here's a few things I've made lately with my Cricut! They are so easy and I think look pretty cute!
Plastic Wear: I liked using plastic rather than glass for purposes of taking food items to tailgates, picnics, child-friendly, etc. You could do any combo of colors, initials, monograms, pictures, etc!
I used Loop Dee Loo Font cartridge for the letters and then a craft circle cut to make the polka dots. The paper is vinyl. I actually gave these as hostess gifts.
This is an iced beverage glass that I used Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge. The above picture is of a softball girl {it's hard to tell, but that's a uniform I made in pink} and the second picture is the helmet and her initials. This was a gift for a great and sweet girl I tutored this summer who was all about softball! I have lots of these cups and I love using them!
This is my favorite thing I made I think! HAHA A personalized Purell dispenser! So, I guess because of my sister or maybe all my friends who have babies, I am very well aware that you need to use some type of Purell or wash your hands before ever touching a new baby! I remember going over to my sister's when Colby was born and it was a rule to go to the Purell first and then come see the baby! So, I thought to myself why not make this little 'new fixture' cute! I have an adorable horse and polka dot purell dispenser in my kitchen, so I got the idea from that! I just took a purell bottle and took off the label. Then used the Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge to make a baby carriage and then {of course} had to add a little personalization with the 'h' at the bottom. I ended up using a green bottle and purple vinyl to match her room colors, although we'll keep it in the Family Room! :) I mean, you might as well keep-it-cute!
*If you don't have a Cricut and you like any of the things you see, you can always email me or visit my Craft Store! The Everyday Paper Dolls cartridge has seriously endless possibilities of pictures, scenes, etc! It's awesome!
*If you're visiting from facebook, thanks! I rarely post my blogs on FB anymore, so click on the Home button and read what you've missed! :) thanks for visiting!!

Nursery Art~Etsy Style
I totally feel like this blog has turned into a baby blog. I apologize for that! I am hoping to get back on track to cooking new recipes, sharing fun things I do with hubby, and hopefully attempting more home-improvement projects {although baby is kind of sucking us dry in the money area with her room, ha!}.
Anyways, I found some really fun and sweet art for the nursery...but I am not sure which one I want! I'm not a big wall art person...I'd rather have pictures of actual people I know hung all over the place rather than a picture I didn't take or something. But, I found these super cute prints from this Etsy shop and am thinking of purchasing one! The prices range from $20-$55 and can be custom made for you, too!
What do you think? Which one do you like best?
Most of these come as an 8x10 on paper or canvas. She also has boy ones, too! I love this last one with the 10 commandments, but the line "do not murder" sort of freaks me out in my baby's room... ya know?!

Happy Daddy-to-Be Day!
Although little Harper isn't here yet...Brian has already started becoming a great dad! So today I gave him a silly little gift, a super cute burp cloth, and a card from Harper. :)
I can only pray Brian will be half as wonderful of a Dad to our little girl as my Dad was to me!
{he might need some daddy-daughter pointers, Dad! haha}
golf burp cloth in pink and green! |
6 beers of different kinds...let me tell you how weird I felt in that store buying those! Thanks Jordan for going with me! ha! |
Got the bucket from the $2 bin at Target and added the letters and side stuff with my Cricut. |

Shameless :)
Hey! At least I admit it!!
I am linking up with Jamie for What I'm Loving Wednesday...but I am also being slightly shameless with my post. :) I hope that doesn't get me kicked off her blog link-up!!!
I just discovered the wonderful world of Etsy.com from a "having a little girl" perspective.
WHOA.
WOW.
OhMaWord.
I am in love.
There are SO many precious things on there! From big 'ol bows, to sweet ginormous tutu's I just couldn't help myself from smiling ear to ear! Even sweet Brian was laughing along with me picturing Harper wearing all that cute stuff!!
So..on to the shameless portion of my post ;)
I added a new item to my Store and hope to sell bunches because it's really cute! Although I haven't found UK Blue vinyl yet - I'm working on it! Think of the possibilities for tailgating! Check back soon ;)
{poor quality due to picture taking on the BB}
Aren't these cute?! I also think matching glasses or a pitcher or maybe platter would be adorable with names, initials, monogram, anything! Please visit if you'd like!! :) http://www.theburtonsspotstore.blogspot.com/
Momma's got to make some extra money now! haha
And...thanks for letting me be shameless today! I will be back to my normal self tomorrow!

Great Site for Little Girls!
A friend of Brian's from college recently started up her own little shop selling different types of bows for little girls. She just added tutus to her collection and they are adorable! I had Rachel make a custom design for Nola {my friend Allison's little girl} just as a little gift and had a matching bow made, too! These tutus and bows are priced extremely well comparing to other sites I've seen!
Doesn't she look adorable?! Best part is, the tutu and matching bow was only $22 total! That's such a steal! Rachel shipped the package to Allison & Nola with a personalized message, too!
You can check out other designs or make your own through her facebook page, Belles Bows N More.
