church Baby shower

I had another wonderful shower on Saturday hosted by my parent's Sunday School Class friends. It was a lot of fun and another wonderfully put together shower with lots of sweet and thoughtful little details.  Two of the women who hosted the shower were my D-Group leaders in high school youth group and one was a good friend and knew Brian in her own way before we ever started dating!

It was really fun and once again we are so excited for all the sweet items and clothes she received!

Sprinkle in December

Have you ever heard of a Sprinkle Shower? Well I certainly hadn't until recently... The rule of thumb used to be Baby Showers were thrown for the first baby but not the siblings after.
So, Mom and I thought it would be fun to give Kelli & Cameron a Sprinkle! We just invited our family plus Grandparents. I hosted so Granddaddy and Granny could see our home and Christmas decorations. It was super fun!

And, of course, we didn't leave Colby out! Mom and I both got him presents! B keeps saying he's going to get 'wild' and jealous when Cameron arrives but I just can't believe it. Colby is so sweet and good. I don't think he can change! ha!

Here's a few pictures from the night on Wednesday!
{Kelli with her gifts}
{Kelli with her Welcome Baby wreath that I will hang on the outside of her hospital door when Cameron arrives! Like it? Go to The Craft Store to find it!}
{Mine and B's gift ~ a gift tree for the little Christmas baby! Lot's of fun goodies on there! One of my favorite gifts was the onesie stickers to document each month of Cameron's life for the first year!}
{Eek! How cute is that vest outfit? You CAN find cute outfits for boys. My sister, Mom, and I have proven it!}
{We call Colby our Buddy, so Cameron will be out Little Buddy.}
{XOXO}
{Front Door Sign that you can find HERE.}
{Burp cloths from Mom. These are almost too cute to use!}

Can't wait to meet Cameron oh-so-soon!

Cocktails and Cupcakes

On Saturday night we had a shower for Nick and Jordan! Alison had the cute idea of making it a cocktails and cupcake theme at her house and asked me to help host. The night was fun and I think the couple had a good time and got lots of great stuff! I'll never understand how showers got started ~ but what a great idea!! :)

Here are a few favorite pics from the night:
{the cute bride and groom}
{the pretty bride and her hostesses}
{the couple got lots of good gifts!}
{Alison, Me, and Amanda}
{me and my cute hubby!}
{Nick, Groom-Nick, and Brian with Bourbon Slushies}
{lots of cupcakes!}
{fondue and bourbon slushies}
{beer buckets for the boys and raspberry beer margaritas for the girls (the UK tubs were gifts for N and J after the shower!)}
{a cricut can make anything cuter!}
{favor boxes~mini-cupcakes}
{just a few decorations}

{end of the night fun in the fondue! me, Jordan, Alison}

Going over to Nick and Alison's house is fun because we have extremely similar models of homes. So I like to look how they decorated and what they put where to give me an idea! I love visiting other friend's homes, but it always makes me want to come back to my house and change up something!!

Hope your Saturday was great!

College Gals

Although I'm a little behind...Amanda {my friend from college} had her first baby shower with the college girls the weekend before last. Jen actually threw the baby shower for her, but since she lives in Charleston, SC {rough, huh?!} I offered to let her host it at our home so she wouldn't have to pay for a clubhouse.
Jen's job is to host and plan events, so I knew this baby shower was going to be great! Her and her Mom arrived early Saturday morning, and I'll let you see the pictures of how she made this shower for Amanda and Trenton awesome!

Amanda is painting a tree in baby Trenton's nursery, so Jen made a tree and had pre-cut paper of her colors {blue & orange} where she had us all write well wishes to Amanda, David, and Trenton. What a neat idea! She also had a parfait station which we all loved. I will totally be stealing that idea for my next shower! I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but she had pre-cut fruit, yogurt in cups, and granola ready to make your own. Yummy!!

The fun didn't stop there! Later that night was Grace's wedding {another friend from college}. We had the baby shower on the same day as the wedding so the girls from out of town {SC, NYC, etc.} could come in!
It's funny how our group has gone through weddings. It seems as though we all go through spurts. We had several the summer after we graduated college, then a few here and there, and then 4 this winter/spring season {including ours!}.
Grace's wedding was outside Keene Barn {please excuse my glowing face, haha} and the reception was inside Keene Barn. It was so fun!

{this picture is us doing our Sigma song and dance ~ we have a special ring we wear when we get married and a special song we sing}

It's almost amazing how much our group of girlfriends have stayed close. Yes, some of us are closer to one another than others, but I think it's great as busy as we all are, we make time for milestones in one another's lives.

Weekend Cookouts

{although a little late}
Over Memorial Day weekend B and I hosted our work friends over for a cookout. Below are some fun pictures from the night.
{Katharine and I sharing a fun 'everything goes' cocktail}

The following weekend Sara had the girls over for an appetizer get-together. It was so fun and such a good idea. Appetizers are my favorite food group!

On Saturday B and I tried out a new place for brunch, Josie's in Chevy Chase. It was super yummy! We then went to the pool for a few hours.
{playing with Colby}

On Saturday night Alison and Nick had a Couples Cookout Shower. It was so fun and Jordan planned a great night! We gave Alison and Nick a 'Date Night' shower gift. We've loved going to Talon Winery with them in the past so we thought it would make a meaningful gift. We purchased their wine glasses and B wine stopper off their registry and wrapped it in a canvas B bag(their last name starts with B, so now I get to shop for her and me!!), a B cutting board (for wine and cheese), damask napkins, and a bottle of wine.

Next we had a chance to get a drink with Amanda and Philip. Philip is hard at work in Residency and barely gets time off, so we felt blessed to be able to spend time with him yesterday! We tried out a new place, The Cellar. It was super fun and the menu looked yummy as well!

Lastly, we potted a new plant for the porch. I always drive by other people's houses and love the look of this type of pot, so today we used a Home Depot gift card from the wedding and put this together. I was super happy with the look!
